The story

La Dog is a website that offers dog boarding and training.

The original site is loaded with info and media, but these are messy to the extent of making it difficult to navigate the site. The outdated design doesn't help either.

In short, the site needs a facelift...

In addition, I made it responsive and designed it so that it would also fit a mobile, a very up-to-date and convenient option!

Originally...

On the original site, besides an outdated design, it seems that not much thought was given to the user experience: there are many categories leading to the same pages, a serious lack of hierarchy, a lot of text in large blocks and a lack of uniformity in the media design.

For the boarding, the users want transparency regarding the conditions (sanitation, food and cleanliness) as well as the experience, professionalism and training of the care staff. It is important to them that their dog will receive a warm and personal care.

The users also care to know the experience of the trainers, as well as the specs of the training method. They would like to receive tips for further training at home.

Summer Wear

Adi, Dog Owner

My dog may be tiny but he acts like he is the king of the house. He needs training to stop marking territory and barking, and I would love to learn how to continue the training myself at home.

The Users

Portrait of Smiling Man

Guy, Dogs Owner

I have several dogs and it is important to me to leave them in a good place when I travel, one with many recommendations and where you can see pictures of it first. I want clean, comfortable conditions, quality food and someone to play with a lot! Let them feel at home...

Smiling Person

Maya, Puppy Owner

My puppy hasn't learned anything yet and therefore needs boarding with gentle and professional training, one that won't harm him.. I want to be able to see him a lot and receive regular reports on his condition.

Market Research

When I was looking for dog trainers I found that there are mainly private trainers on the market who work alone.

Most of them don't have a modern designed landing page but a website that can look a bit overloaded at times, where they talk mainly about the training and less about their personal expertise.

In the field of boarding houses, I found a few sites that seem a little more organized, even if not in the optimal way.

It seems that in some of them the owners know what interests to the users, but in some they don't, and the information is presented in a jumble.

In the end I did found myself taking inspiration from some of the sites, especially at the level of their marketing and the call for action.

The Inspiration

Came partly from a few other training and boarding sites, partly from sites such as Booking and apartment renting that present various included services, and even a bit from a dog adoption app.

So How
Does It Work?

When going to the boarding page, you will receive understandable, accessible and accurate information about all its conditions - including a guided and up-to-date video tour!

1. Access all
       from home page

You will get a glimpse of all the main content (including user tips and recommendations) from the main page in an orderly and easy-to-see manner.

On the staff page you can find personal information and also details about the professional training of each of the members, be it in boarding or training.

2. Get clear &
             reliable info

Find neat information about the different training methods, presented in a sorted and organized way to facilitate the adaptation to your dog.

Wireframes

I tried to answer the main pain points while conveying a sense of security to the user: for e.g., there are many links and indications about who are the professionals who will care for the pet (whether just their names are as a teaser on the home page, an appearance via the training methods area or in detail on the staff page itself).

the user may also find reviews from existing users already at the entrance (and not only on the pages intended for this).

There is a video and detailed pictures of the boarding house as an answer to the users' concern, just like when you book a hotel; A nice feature that I would like to add in the future would be an app that tracks the dog's progress and updates on its condition and daily activity on an ongoing basis.

In the meantime, the site is mobile responsive. I had to solve some problems in the transition, such as creating cards for the team members or separating into tabs for the training methods.
